Public invited to comment on NMDOT’s Draft Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Annual Reports
SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) invites the public to review and comment on its draft 2026 Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Annual Reports for the Albuquerque, Las Cruces/Anthony, Santa Fe, and Farmington areas.
These reports are part of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), a federal program that helps protect water quality by regulating stormwater discharges into rivers, lakes, streams, and other waters of the United States.
As required under NPDES MS4 permits, the draft reports summarize NMDOT’s stormwater management activities and efforts to reduce pollutants carried by stormwater runoff. The reports are available for public review, and all comments received during the public comment period will be considered as NMDOT finalizes the reports and updates its Stormwater Management Plans.
